Richardson, Texas – August 30, 2017 – As the crisis continues to unfold, our thoughts and prayers are with the millions of people in Houston, Beaumont and throughout the Gulf Coast who are impacted by this disaster. The Vista College – Beaumont Campus family has been impacted by the damage that Harvey has caused.
Many of our Beaumont staff and students are now faced the uncertainty of how to move forward in Harvey’s wake. In addition to the Beaumont campus students impacted, we also have more than 50 students that are part of our Online campus living in the Houston/Gulf Coast area. While we have yet to hear of any significant injuries, we have heard that many employees and students are currently without power or have been evacuated from their homes. Many of their homes are already under water with no timetable on when they will be able to return to assess the damage.
In efforts to help those impacted by Hurricane Harvey in the Beaumont area, Vista College has setup drop-off locations at each campus. We are asking our communities to provide the following un-used items:
Diapers for babies AND adults
“Ready to eat” food
Donated items will be accepted at our campuses until Saturday at 4pm. Vista College will then deliver the items to the Vista College Beaumont Campus. The specific delivery date and time has yet to be determined.
